Black Bears in New Jersey


Since the 1980s the Garden State's black bear population has been increasing and expanding its range both southward and eastward from the forested areas of northwestern New Jersey. Within the most densely populated state in the nation, black bears are thriving and there are now confirmed bear sightings in all 21 of New Jersey's counties.



Ten Point Crossbow Recall


In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, TenPoint Crossbow Technologies is announcing a voluntary recall to self-test, and if necessary, repair certain TenPoint and Wicked Ridge crossbows.


TenPoint is requesting that owners of these models conduct a simple self-test to determine if their crossbow requires the recall and repair.





Great Trout Fishing Continues After Stocking Concludes


The NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife is reminding the public that although today, Friday, May 27, marks the end of spring season trout stocking, it's just the beginning of fabulous late spring and early summer trout fishing. Most trout anglers miss out on some of the best trout fishing of the year by not fishing after stocking ends.

The NJ Hunter Education program prepares students to recognize, understand, and accept the serious responsibilities of hunting. Having safe and ethical hunters in the field is fundamental to the sport.
